The French melodies of joy brought to life by the Palazzetto Bru Zane and a fine vocal group.
MELODIES OF HAPPINESS
Works by Chausson, Fauré, Debussy, Dubois, Massenet, Saint-Saëns…
When the Palazzetto Bru Zane group turned its attention to the little-known works of Camille Saint-Saëns in 2015, they were quickly intrigued by the presentation of a series of melodies with orchestra, in the tradition of Berlioz's famous Nuits d'été. How could such a body of work have remained unpublished for so long? Research soon revealed a musical continent that still seems infinite, written by Fauré, Chausson, Massenet, Franck, Gounod as well as Dubois, Hahn and Guilmant. To accompany the return to the repertoire of these intimate pieces, five soloists and the Orchestre de chambre de Paris conducted by Hervé Niquet will perform a selection of "symphonic" melodies with a myriad of nuances.
