    "With J.S. Bach's Partita No. 3, Martin Helmchen invites us to inner contemplation: with Christian devotion, the transparent and singing way in which he plays the six dance movements creates an atmosphere of concentration, far from the too great demands of everyday life," wrote Der Tagespiegel in 2015. From A minor to A major, the German will continue this Sunday with Schubert's sonata D. 959, a work that is in turn Beethovenian (Allegro), desolate (Andantino), elfin (Scherzo) and imbued with the spirit of folk music (Rondo). In 2008, his singular recording of the monument for Pentatone did not go unnoticed. Gramophone called it "musical gold", swooning over such "poetic commitment". Who can beat that?
