“Ladies and Gentlemen, Raymond Devos was a miraculous apparition on the French stage.
There was no one else quite like him. Nobody will ever compare with him.
That’s just how it is. We have to accept it, like it or not.
When mentioning Devos, it is entirely appropriate to go crazy.
A touch of madness capable of jamming the well-oiled mechanism of logic, reality and everyday life.
People who saw him remember him: Raymond Devos was a rare phenomenon. Like circular rainbows of fire, columns of light, fire whirls, or lenticular clouds, he sprang up, miraculous and mysterious, behind a red curtain which opened onto the imaginary.
This was completely new! And the sight of this man defying gravity took our breath away.”
