Beethoven  Sonata No. 27 op. 90
    Chopin Nocturne op. 48 n° 2, Fantaisie op. 49.
    Brahms  Quatre Ballades Op. 10
Prokofiev  Sonata No. 2 Op. 14

Following on from his first visit last autumn with Rachmaninov’s Concerto No.3, Evgeny Kissin is making a solo visit this season with a programme featuring the great classicists Beethoven, Chopin and Brahms in counterpoint to the Russian modernism of Prokofiev. Now in his early fifties, he has achieved a unique level of musical and interpretative maturity, displaying peerless mastery of technical complexity which lays bare the drama and nobility of his programmes. At the end of March we can hear him in the company of another giant, the baritone Matthias Goerne, for an evening of Schumann and Brahms.
