The Jin Xing Dance Theatre was formed in the heart of communist China in 1999 by Jin Xing. This pioneering dancer has successfully broken down barriers between East and West and the Jin Xing Dance Theatre has established its reputation as the cream of contemporary Chinese dance and as an international cultural ambassador. Choreographer and principal dancer Jin Xing is a celebrity in China, working on a regular basis with the Shanghai Opera as well as on her own works with the company she founded. The company will present four ballets: Space 9 by Jin Xing, Gat’s by choreographer Emmanuel Gat, who likes to choreograph and to compose some of his own music (he is the principal composer for his work in this programme), and two pieces by Arthur Kuggeleyn, a Dutch actor and choreographer, who has been based in Berlin for many years. Discover three visions and dialogues at the heart of contemporary dance.
