Despite being a high-profile international soloist, Tabea Zimmermann also enjoys the discreet key role of her instrument in chamber ensembles. After recording Brahms’s Sextets with her friend Jean-Guihen Queyras, the viola player now reunites with the new Belcea Quartet line-up – Suyeon Kang has replaced Axel Sacher on second violin – to play Mozart. The programme features two quintets in C: the rarely performed Quintet in C minor (K. 406), transcribed from a serenade for eight wind instruments, and the Quintet in C major (K. 515), whose first Allegro seems to prefigure Beethoven. The energy of the finale will put a spring in your step all Sunday long.
