Leif Ove Andsnes | piano
Norwegian pianist Leif Ove Andsnes delivers a programme of Beethoven and Dvořák.
Beethoven Sonata No. 8 op. 13 « Pathetique », Sonata No. 31 Op. 110
Dvořák Poetic Tone Pictures Op. 85
This Norwegian pianist has successfully made his name on vinyl and onstage with his performances of Grieg, Schumann, Nielsen, Schubert, and Rachmaninov. After training focused on a respect for music rather than competition, Leif Ove Andsnes has blazed his own trail and continues to arouse curiosity and take on challenges on his musical journey as a soloist or with other musicians. For this new Paris recital, he returns to some of the core elements of the piano repertoire with Beethoven and his Sonata No. 8, a Romantic masterpiece with the iconic Opus 110 in counterpoint. He will round off his recital with Dvořák’s Poetic Tone Pictures, thirteen rich and contrasting genre scenes and one of the musician’s most charming compositions for this instrument.
